Principal's Message
Dear Kennedy Elementary Community,
Welcome back to the 2024-25 school year! I hope all of you had a relaxing and memorable summer break with family and friends. I am very excited to join the Newark Unified School District and I'm thrilled to be your new principal leading such a dedicated team.
As we get ready to approach this new school year, I wanted to take a brief moment to introduce myself to you and share a little about my personal and professional journey. First, we’ll start with the formal, over the past 20 years I have been deeply involved in education and driven by a passion for music and leadership in both private and public schools and various community organizations. I received my B.A. in Music in 2006 from Cal State Bakersfield. In case you are wondering, my primary instrument is the saxophone. In 2021 I received my Masters Degree in Special Education from Cal State East-Bay and have had great experiences working as a SPED teacher in both the Campbell Union High School District and Cupertino Union School District. I am currently in my second year of my Educational Doctorate program focusing on educational leadership from San Jose State University. On my personal journey, my life revolves around my wife of 16 years, two daughters ages 2 and 11, and a bunny who is cared for just like family. My love of family, education, and any reason to drink some good coffee neatly sums up who I am.
After having a chance to speak to those within the district, it is clear and evident that Kennedy Elementary has a long standing history of being a caring, supportive, and student centered/driven school. I am honored to lead this school and work with the students, teachers, and parents of Kennedy Elementary.
Please continue to enjoy the last few days of the summer break and you’ll be receiving more information from the school in the next coming days and week(s).
Go Eagles!
Sincerely,
Luis Lenzi
